When I bought this product, I was still not sure what I need for. for most people, this speaker is unreasonably expensive. I could not even sure about the sound quality since it's using bluetooth technology which loose its sound quality. However, I purchased this on Amazon for $179. There were several reasons why I chose to buy this; First, I don't have any bluetooth device. I don't need any, but I wanted to have at least one device. Second, I sometimes use iPhone's speaker to listen music, and I'm not satisfied. Third, its review from media was superior, which attracted my attention.

Package

Before I got my Jambox, I had to think which color I wanted to get. There are 4 colors with different patterns. I liked the grey color's pattern, so I got this one. When I received and open the package, I was so impressed to see how all accessories were well-organized. I love how Jawbone focuses on details like this, and it's working out. There are two Micro USB cables with different sizes, one AUX cable, USB charger, User Guide, and a case for Jambox.

Design

The device is very simple. On the top, there are three buttons, volume buttons and a button for checking battery and other things. If I press that circle button for quick, it will tell me how much battery remaining, and if I press longer, I can use voice command to call. And there are other apps that I can use for this button.

On the side, there are On/Off button, 3.5mm AUX Jack, and Micro USB jack. If I want to make my Jambox to the pairing mode, I just push On/Off button to the top and hold for several seconds. Otherwise, if you want your Jambox to connect with the one you previously used, you just need to move the button to the middle.

Sound

It was my first time having a Bluetooth speaker. And there are many issues related with Bluetooth technology and music quality loss. When I first hear the sound of Jambox, I didn't think this is a Bluetooth speaker, and I still don't see the big differences between this Bluetooth speaker and regular line-speakers. May be I can't distinguish the difference since I'm not a sound technician. In other words, most people won't recognize the differences. Its loudness is really amazing. when I put in a highest volume, this can fill my entire apartment. It's small, but has powerful sound quality for everyone.

Apps

Screen Shot 2011 12 12 at 11 01 16 PMthere is a one big special feature for Jawbone products which makes their products more special that any others. MYTALK is an app for every Jawbone products, and there are many useful apps. Especially for Jawbone Jambox, Jawbone updated new firmware with Liveaudio, which makes its sound quality to incredible depth, detail, and spatial realism. When you connect to device and download the software, Jawbone Updater, web browser automatically detects the device and check the update. Then I can download and change new apps. For instance, you can change the voice for the device, dial apps, And you can also do some Setting changes on the left.

20111103 DSC06172This is my first bluetooth accessory, and I believe I made the right choice for my first bluetooth experience. This is one of the best bluetooth speaker I can possibly buy if I care about the quality of sound. Furthermore, this speaker is very compact that I can carry around everywhere. If you want the bluetooth speaker for quality, you can choose this one for sure.`

YES! That's correct! I got a job!

Now I am writing an article for the Daily Barometer, a newspaper in OSU.

I will get paid when my article goes on the newspaper. I am planning to write articles about issues relating with IT industry and gadget.

It will be very entertaining experience for me. I can't wait to see my article on the newspaper… with my name!

Why I chose to become a journalist

It's actually very sudden. I was not interested in becoming a journalist at all, but now I want it.

When I first thought about my career when I was very young, like in high school, I wanted to become a developer, and I still am; I just think it's not the right time to work on. My first major was Computer Science when I first came to OSU. But on winter term, my professor was teaching Java, and I couldn't catch up the material she was teaching. Actually, she taught material that wasn't on the book and expected every single person in that class to know. Since I didn't have any knowledge in CS, I failed that class and regret my choice of choosing CS. Therefore, now I am studying New Media and Communication.

New Media and Communication…is very uncommon. Most people don't know what the hell this major is all about. Interestingly, this major is freaking broad. I can learn so many things. It's basically every stuff relating with New Media like film, news, reporting, SNS, photography, movie editing, etc. And I thought this major was very interesting since I have been interested in Public Relations, and I can learn not only PR, but other materials like SNS, movie editing, etc. So I changed my major on Winter 2011.

And my college life became boredom. New media classes were boring, I didn't make many friends, not even Korean friends, I didn't participate in any club or other activities, and I was lonely. I didn't enjoy my college life at all. Honestly, I still don't, but much better than at this time. I spent boring Spring term, and came back to South Korea. It was a lot of fun for me. I love walking around in the big city like Seoul, and I don't have to be lonely. Furthermore, I got an opportunity to do an intern. It was one of my best experience ever. I organize and designed Mobile apps(Since I am running blogs for reviewing iOS and Android apps for years, I believe I an pretty good at these materials).

After coming back to my boring reality in US, I really wanted go back to South Korea for studying. US, I mean Corvallis, OR, is too boring for me. So I suffered with my parents arguing about this issue for whole fall term. As a result, I chose to stay in America. At first, I had to; I realized it's freaking hard for me to transfer to college in South Korea.

Then I went to a workshop, and Julia Sandidge, a director of Student Media in OSU, helped me to reach current goal. Honestly, her workshop was sort of boring at the beginning. However, when she started talking about what she had done as a reporter, and told "Give voice to voiceless", I wanted to become a journalist. Now my goal is becoming IT tech journalist in US. This is pretty common now, but I believe there are not many journalists who are from South Korea, or know Korea's IT industry, which is very interesting in a positive way. Therefore, I want to become a Tech writer who understand both South Korea and US's IT industry and give my voice to someone who doesn't know either of them.

I can talk not only IT, but skincare, music, or anything related with Korea. I realized I have such an amazing environment in US for what I want to do. I will be able to get better opportunities in US than in Korea. Now I am going to try my best to stuck in US. I am even thinking of becoming a US citizen. I believe I have a lot of potential. I am going to do not only journalism, but also designing app and PR. I am going to try to achieve my goal, and becoming a journalist is going to be my first step.
